Prospective Student,

Conch Republic Divers is offering a combined certification course in TDI Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures, and Advanced Wreck Diving, with instructors Richie Kohler and John Chatterton. This is a comprehensive course that essentially takes Advanced Open Water divers and introduces them to decompression diving and wreck penetration over a six day period. This course covers a lot of ground in a relatively short period of time.

Students must be Advanced Open water Certified, Basic Wreck or Cavern certified, and have a minimum of 60 logged dives. This is not SEAL training, and we have a lot of fun in this program, but we are requiring a physician’s sign off for all participants. Student safety is our number one priority. There is a list of required equipment for the course as well, and we will be sending the students their texts in advance. All of the reading and comprehension tests will be done prior to arrival.

Students need to understand the importance of showing up for the class prepared. We will be hitting the ground running and it is imperative that students are ready with the information from the texts, and possess all the necessary equipment. A big part of this program is assisting our students with equipment configuration and adjustment, but you need to arrive with the basics.

Course Outline

This intensive program is comprised of three of TDI’s best technical diving courses, which we have put into a single comprehensive format. The curriculum will include instructing students on the planning and execution of dives that include Nitrox, gas switches, use of stage bottles, planned decompression diving, and shipwreck penetration. Weather permitting, the training will include dives on the wrecks of the Spiegel Grove, Eagle, Duane, and Bibb.

Students that complete this program will receive TDI diving certifications in Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures, and Advanced Wreck Diving. Richie Kohler and John Chatterton will be the course instructors. Although these legendary divers have been the subjects of numerous books, television programs, and articles, this will actually be the second time these two diving instructors have come together to teach a class.

Students must meet the following requirements:

Students must be at least 21 years of age.
Students must be in good health, and have a positive mental attitude.
Students must have at least 60 logged dives.
Students must be Basic Nitrox, Advanced Diver, and Basic Wreck Diver (or Cavern Diver) certified, or be able to show proof of substitute experience.

WHEN & WHERE

This event is scheduled for dives on Oct 25th - 30th, weather permitting, out of Conch Republic Divers in Tavernier, Florida. Travel days are Saturday Oct 24th and Saturday Oct 31st, 2009, which makes this course 7 hotel nights and 6 days of diving.

Pricing is $3,800. This price includes all instruction, text books, certification fees, boat fees, dive gases, all cylinders, local hotel, and lunch. Not included are transportation, breakfast, and dinner.
